The inner tyres of a mountain bike are designed to withstand demanding riding conditions, such as roots, rocks and other terrain obstacles. They typically range in width from 2.0 to 2.6 inches and are suitable for a variety of outer tyres and terrain types. High quality mountain bike inner tubes are often reinforced to reduce the risk of punctures, and are highly resistant to low air pressures, which improve traction and ride comfort on rough terrain. Most models are compatible with tubeless systems, so they can also be used as spare tyres for tubeless outer tyres. The valve type is usually Presta, which fits most mountain bike rims. Correctly selected and maintained inner tubes ensure reliable performance and increase riding pleasure on all trails. Always carry a spare for long off-road trips.
