Gear levers are an important part of a bike's gearbox, as they allow you to shift smoothly between different gears. They are usually located on the handlebars and are designed to be ergonomic and easy to use. Types of gear levers: Trigger levers: most common on off-road and hybrid bikes. They operate with two separate levers, one to raise and one to lower the gears. Rotary levers: often used on children's and city bikes. Shifting is done by turning the handlebar grip, which is easy and intuitive. STI levers: combine gears and brakes on road bikes, allowing control of both with a single lever. Hub gear levers: usually rotary levers designed for hub gears, allowing gear changes even when stationary. High-quality gear levers provide precision and durability. Correct selection and regular maintenance, such as checking cables and shells, ensure reliable gearbox operation and a pleasant driving experience.
